This happened almost 9-10 years ago. There were 2 daughters-in-law in a joint family living in a mansion. They had respective mothers-in-law. One of them was the matriarch of the family. One of the bahus was given the job of being in charge of keeping the keys of the house. This was a very prestigious responsibility.
But being the vamp she was she had obviously failed. (I have no idea what she had done to fail). So in front of the whole family, the matriarch scolds her. While scolding she gives enough pauses between sentences. She gives enough time for the n number of family members to showcase their facial expressions. She puts her hand in front of her bahu and demands the key bunch. Every member gets a chance to showcase the horror on their face. The guilty bahu then removes the key bunch which was hanging from her waist. Again All members get to show their expressions. Freedom of expression you see. The matriarch again delivers a sentence. Freedom of expressions of all members. The bahu looks at the key bunch one last time. Each and every member gets to be horrified. Again the saas scolds her. The members react to it the same way they had been reacting until now. The bahu brings her hand forward holding the key bunch to give it to her saas. The saas angrily takes it back not before scolding her in one sentence and giving all members enough time to react the way. She hangs it in her waist and again delivers a sentence and the camera pans again making sure all members get their chance to showcase the horror-struck face. Even the scream girls in those horror movies don’t give such wonderful horror-struck performances.
By now you might have guessed it. Yes, this is a scene from a tv serial. Not just any serial but the very famous Sath Nibhana Sathiya. And this is not just a scene but a whole 30-minute episode. This might have taken hardly 5 minutes for you to read. I had watched it when my cousin was watching it. The day I had reaffirmed my decision of not watching any tv serials especially this one. But after I saw why “Rasode Mein Kaun Tha” started trending and I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjhBeIz1tDI I am contemplating my life choices. Why did I ever miss this Funny serial? Would have been my daily dose of humour!
